Doing a fresh install, lets just list the steps.
tar -C /usr/local -xzf go1.11.5.linux-amd64.tar.gz seriously? Only install which has ever asked me to do this.
export PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/go/bin to
~/.profile. Couldn't do it for me? Why am I manually doing all this?
mkdir -p ~/go this step, I have to imagine on my own.
$GOPATH is not set if you leave it as default.
This is a modern install procedure which encourages adoption and makes deployment easy?
They can't maintain a deb like everyone else?
