The tools to build spaces aren't ready for a wide release; but they are about ready for limited alpha testing. If you would like to setup a space reply to this submission signed in with a name for your community. (self.notabug)

I need to keep things limited at the moment because this stuff is untested at scale, and will be running on the same indexer as the whole site at the moment though this could change in the future.
Initially you will be limited to management of submissions, not comments.
This should be ready to go by tomorrow.
Better support for participating without it may come in the future.

can I have the space /popular and /all ?
[–]go1dfish+1 -0 points 2 months ago
It doesn't work that way. Like usernames, the names of spaces are not unique.
If you wanted to use those names your spaces would be at https://notabug.io/user/Tp0nZxnTImy8Kmvj7lOadHSYyDuj5-D4e8NrjNo37jU.o4VVJRnI--bddtbQdWT5Nl7U7RfOEXEwrGaoBsEZns4/spaces/popular and https://notabug.io/user/Tp0nZxnTImy8Kmvj7lOadHSYyDuj5-D4e8NrjNo37jU.o4VVJRnI--bddtbQdWT5Nl7U7RfOEXEwrGaoBsEZns4/spaces/all

tbh i think they should have names even if they are not unique... getting people to use them with links that complex will not work out well
They do have names, it’s the last bit of the url and shows up like a subreddit name would.

I'd be interested in the space /t/aww

These spaces won't at t/topicname they will be based on user urls and will be able to incorporate content from multiple topics.
When I go live with this your URL will be:
Might want to pick a more unique name though. A start for the definition of your space might look like this for example:
submit to aww

No I don't mean the community names are based on usernames you can use whatever username you want and you will be able to have multiple spaces per username. Just the url is based on the public key.

ok, name was available

This is only for registered users, right? Not that I'm complaining. I can see why.

Yes, spaces are attached to accounts.
Edit: everyone will be able to view these though; you just have to be signed in to create/edit them.

Don't think it's gonna go anywhere with the current toolset, but I'm interested in trying it out with this account.

The idea with this is to get more people using the tools and providing feedback on what is needed.
There is no reason to use an alt account for this btw and you will be able to have multiple spaces per account.
I know, I just want to keep my main's submissions limited to translation releases.
Ok, at the moment managing a space requires no submissions, and you could specify this account as a curator or censor separately if you want to be able to remove specific items before comment commands are ready.
