Who are you voting against?
[–] 3 hours ago in whatever
voat users are fleeding to poal.co
these people really are retarded
Yeah but PMB2 won't give out contribution badges to new people
what are these?
[–] 2 hours ago in whatever
I don't even know but I wanted one and he said no
Labatt blue reminds me of blue moon, is that because they're both blue flavour?
[–]go1dfish 18 minutes ago in whatever
Poal is cool, I like what they are doing
[–] 12 minutes ago in whatever
The Poal culture seems alright. Tolerant of different viewpoints. Or am I wrong about that?
[–]go1dfish 10 minutes ago in whatever
Seems to be from what I’ve seen
The biggest beef I have with Poal is that the site kinda leans into the culture/view of the readers somewhat (like the messaging by the logo) which could have the effect of reinforcing circlejerks
[–]go1dfish 9 minutes ago in whatever
But that’s pretty minor
[–] 9 minutes ago in whatever
that's a good point
[–]go1dfish 8 minutes ago in whatever
You could make a pretty compelling case that the Poalar Bear is an alt-right/ethnonationalist.
Tardigrade doesn’t give a shit

Saidit is a funny case. People hear 'Reddit alternative' and they imagine they heard 'free speech', but Saidit f'kn loves censoring
so it has a pro-censorship administration and an anti-censorship community
[–]go1dfish 4 minutes ago in whatever
Tbh, kinda glad Voat would largely rather migrate to Poal. If nab succeeds it will likely be in part due to Voat taking reputational bullets for us.
[–]go1dfish 3 minutes ago in whatever
In that Voat is well known as the alt right Reddit alternative and the alt right seems pretty content to keep Voat (or now Poal) as is, heavily homogeneous
[–]go1dfish 2 minutes ago in whatever
Outside observers believe that Voat is the inevitable result of any free speech site, but I’m convinced it’s more the result of the specific exodus that happened from Reddit
[–] 2 minutes ago in whatever
or whatever the plural of exodus is

If the alt right continues to concentrate at Voat, gab and Poal it will help provide an opportunity for nab to grow more like Reddit itself did with a more diverse set of mindful people

Don't be racist, be like the tardigrade
Why does it takes so much to save a new comment? (self.notabug)

Hello I'm using TOR and every time I leave a session open more than 2 minutes comments get stuck
Better support for participating without it may come in the future.

It probably doesn't take that long to actually save, but that is how long it takes for the indexer to update and let you know about it.
It's not as bad without TOR, and also there is still some server side slowness I'm working to improve that will reduce this under load.
Edit: this comment saved in under a second, and there is more work the server has to do when you comment logged in even

Because Tor is insanely slow.

Just take a look at Dread, a reddit-like forum specifically designed for Tor. It has a very capable developer behind it and it's still slow as fuck, it's just the nature of the Tor network.

I've noticed that if I keep the session open for some time saving become slower but if I open a new session comments are posted faster.
