Current stage: purely hypothetical, let's talk about it
I make heavy use of RSS for consuming content, and I'm probably not the only one here who likes that model. It would be neat if you could view and share RSS article links easily in NAB, maybe as a component of spaces. This would make NAB into a personal "hub" for consuming content (even moreso than Reddit) and would probably increase overall post volume.
How would this work? I guess we probably wouldn't want a direct RSS item to topic pipeline... also I think topics were going away eventually in favor of spaces (is that still true)? My thought was a spaces rule like this:
rss [url] [options]
Where the options would be key=value pairs to do things like limiting post rates since some RSS feeds are noisy, formatting the post description, etc.
RSS indexing would probably be handled by a shared worker associated with the indexer, which would rotate through all feeds on a regular schedule.
Any thoughts on this? I should be clear that this isn't a feature request, just wanting to see what people think.
